Given that the 2020 Census will provide online and phone response options, you can now support the Census in new ways, including making computers, tablets, or phones available to the public for response.
To become a "Be Counted" site your location will need:
- A building that the public and people with disabilities can access such as a business, organization headquarters, or community center
- A computer, tablet, or phone available for community use at a public location from mid-March through early May
- Password protected Wifi
- Devices that have the latest software updates installed
- Up to date internet browsers
Remember that only a Census Bureau employee is authorized to collect data from the public because they can offer confidentiality protected by law. Be Counted sites should not enter an individuals responses for them or watch them enter their responses.
