Given that the 2020 Census will provide online and phone response options for the first time, the 2020 Census can now be supported in new ways, including making computers, tablets, or phones available to the public for response.  From public libraries, to health centers, to foodbanks, to nonprofts and businesses throughout Montana let's work together to make it count for Montana. 

To become a "Be Counted" site your location will need:

  • A building that the public and people with disabilities can access such as a business, organization headquarters, or community center.
  • Provide access to a computer, tablet, or phone for community members use at a public location. 
  • Have internet that requires password protected Wifi.
  • Devices that have the latest software updates installed.
  • Have someone available to help operate the computer. 
    Remember that only a Census Bureau employee is authorized to collect data from the public because they can offer confidentiality protected by law.  Be Counted sites should not enter an individuals responses for them or watch them enter their responses.
